SMS messages are still being sent from the old Twilio number even after purchasing a new one and selecting it as the default outbound number
To avoid sending SMS messages from different Twilio phone numbers and potentially spamming leads, the old leads in HL (presumably a system or platform) are still associated with the old default Twilio phone number. Only new leads added to CRM will receive SMS messages from the new default outbound number.
Delete and Re-create the contact: Instead of updating existing contacts, consider deleting and re-creating them. This way, new contacts will use the new default Twilio number.
Remove the old default Twilio number: Another option is to remove the old Twilio phone number completely. By doing so, all SMS messages will be sent exclusively from the newly purchased Twilio number.
Assign the new default Twilio number to the user and use user login for SMS: If you wish to retain the old Twilio phone number, consider assigning the new Twilio number to the user. Then, log in as the user to send the SMS messages. You can also assign the user in the Workflow action, ensuring that all automated SMS messages are sent from the newly acquired Twilio number.
